Lord Help Me to Hold Out

(Job 14:14)  If a man die, shall he revive? All the days of my warfare I will wait, until my change comes. (Psalms 69:3)  I am weary from my crying; my throat is dried; my eyes fail while I wait for my God. (Psalms 130:5)  I wait for Jehovah, my soul waits, and in His Word I hope.

For many suffering may be a part of their daily life suffering can come in various forms. It can be physical, mental, emotional or an illness just to name some. The Bible is full of stories and accounts of people who have suffered. There are also stories of how God delivered those who suffered. One of the most classic stories of suffering in the Bible is the story of Job in the very first chapter of the book of Job he loses all of his property and his children. However Job’s response is a model for us all when it comes to the trials of this life. (Job 1:20)  And Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground and worshiped.

(Job 1:21)  And he said, I came naked out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. Jehovah gave, and Jehovah has taken away. Blessed be the name of Jehovah.

(Job 1:22)  In all this Job did not sin, nor charge God foolishly. Later on Job is attacked by satan leaving his body in discomfort as well as excruciating pain I’m sure.

Yet in all of this he never complains or accuses God for his plight instead in our scripture text he is determined to wait until his situation changed. He did not know how things were going to turn out but he trusted God. That’s what we as believers must learn to do trust God. Don’t focus on the plight that you find yourself instead focus as the psalmist does in our text, wait trusting in the promises found in God’s word. The psalmist has cried to the point

where their throat is dry and their eyes fail yet they still wait on their God. No matter who you are where you’re at or what you might have done God still wants to help you. He loves you so much that he sent his son to die for you. When believe and trust in the savior we are guaranteed all of the promises found in The Word. We and that includes me must learn to patiently wait for God to bring about change no matter what situation we face in this life. Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike.
