(Num 16:46) And Moses said to Aaron, Take a fire-pan, and put fire in it from the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly to the congregation and make an atonement for them. For wrath has gone out from Jehovah. The plague has begun.
(Num 16:47) And Aaron did as Moses commanded and ran into the midst of the congregation. And behold! The plague had begun among the people. And he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
(Num 16:48) And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stayed.
Throughout the Old Testament we read story after story about the Children of Israel. They were often guilty of sin and rebellion against the mandates of God. God often referred to them as a stiff-necked people. When I look at the church today I see a lot of stiff-necked people just as during the time of Moses. I see people that are in rebellion. Some during this time of plaque when thousands are dying daily. Some are during their best to serve the community providing food and assistance. Others have focused on filing lawsuits so that they can once again gather in their sanctuaries. Still others are spending their time spreading false prophesies still focusing on the past election.
God has allowed everything that has happened this year from COVID 19 to the past election. Maybe God desires all of us to take a fresh look to look inward to see where we stack up. At the same time, we cannot blame God for the hundreds of thousands of COVID 19 related deaths. It’s not God’s fault that people live in rebellion and refuse to do a simple thing such as wear a mask to protect themselves as well as others. In our scripture text Moses instructs Aaron as to what he should do in order that the plaque might be stayed. What is church leadership doing today? Who is standing before God on behalf of the people in order that the plaque of COVID 19 might be stayed. You have pastors that still won’t accept its existence, how sad!!! So, what is the solution? (2Ch 7:14) if My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. We quote it all the time whenever there is a disaster be it natural or manmade. The problem is humility there is a serious lack of it especially amongst those who are supposed to be Christians. Instead of collectively daily seeking God to stay the plaque of COVID 19 they are talking about the previous election and filing law suits.
God has allowed churches to be closed down. Let me say that again God has allowed churches to be closed down. There would not be a need for a vaccine if the people of God would truly humble themselves and pray that God would stay the plaque of COVID 19. Whether COVID 19 is manmade or demonic origin whatever the case may be. We worship and serve a God who is able to heal and rid this land of COVID 19. If the people of God would seek God’s face in all humility there would be no need for a vaccine because just as he did for the children of Israel he would stay the plaque.
