A Daughter’s FAITH

(Mat 9:29) Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith let it be to you.

Two of the greatest lessons and examples of Faith in my Life actually came from my oldest Daughter Michelle. The first one was when I was working in the Entertainment Industry. For a period of time I commuted twice a week from Toledo to Detroit. One time I was supposed to pick my daughter up from work when I got back to the city. Things got so hectic that day that I totally forgot that I was supposed to pick up Michelle. When I got back to the city I got off at the exit near her job still not remembering that I was supposed to pick her up.

As I exited off the expressway which is near her job I noticed her calmly standing in front. It was then and only then that I remembered I was supposed to pick her up from work. I was an hour late so when she got in the car I apologized. Then I asked her were you worried or did you think I had forgotten to pick you up. She said no that she just kept checking because she knew that I was going to pick her up. What she said really hit me because I had forgotten yet she still had enough faith in her dad that even though I was late she knew I was coming to pick her up. I could have been in a car accident or anything yet none of that entered her mind because she knew I was going to pick her up.

The second incident happened when she was preparing to go to college. I traveled a lot for work so during the summer months I took the family with me. They often enjoyed it as we went all over the USA. On one trip we visited a college that Michelle just fell in love with and decided that was where she wanted to go. Well when it was time for her to go away things looked pretty bleak as far as her be able to attend the university that she wanted to go to. I had recently been struck with Fibromyalgia and was no longer working. We were about to lose our house. Yet her faith did not wane she knew she was going to that school. There were even issues with her getting financial aid. Once again she just knew her dad was going to help her and that she was going to that school. Well seeing her faith I did everything she requested of me and God and her mom did the rest. Of course she wound up going to the school and really enjoyed her years and time there.

Our Faith in our heavenly Father should be just as much if not more than my daughter had in me. Because on my best days I’m just a flawed person ever in need of God’s mercy and grace. If God had not guided me the day I forgot to pick her up, Michelle would have waited even longer. I did not always exit off where I did that day. No matter what you are going through don’t give up, don’t lose hope, and don’t lose faith. God knows exactly who you are, where you are, and what you are going through. Nothing catches him by surprise remember what the scripture tells us. (Mat 7:7) Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.
(Mat 7:8) For each one who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it shall be opened. (Mat 7:9) Or what man is there of you, if his son asks a loaf, will he give him a stone? (Mat 7:10) Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a snake? (Mat 7:11) If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him? Ask the Lord to help you, be patient and wait on him he knows what you are going through. Hold on to your Faith help is on the way Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike.
