I’m So Thankful, How About You?

(Col 3:15)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you also are called in one body, and be thankful. (1Th 5:18)  In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (Ezr 3:11)  And they sang, praising and giving thanks to Jehovah, because He is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid. (Mar 14:23)  And taking the cup, giving thanks, He gave to them. And they all drank out of it.

Once again we are blessed to experience another Thanksgiving Day. A time when family and friends gather together to share meals and memories. At the same time for some as with many special days for some this is a time of depression.  However when we look at our scripture text found in Col 3:15 we’re encouraged to let the peace of God rule in our hearts and to be thankful. While this may be difficult because what you’re going through remember that nothing in life catches God by surprise. God loves us and cares for us and his desire is always for good in our lives.

We should always give Thanks as things could always be worse. When we trust God and exercise our Faith when we hang in there things will get better because that is what God desires for us (3Jn 1:2) Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. Along with our thanks we should always incorporate praise. Praise and Thanks go hand in hand as they complement each other. Our Lord gave thanks as he broke bread with his disciples in his last meal before he gave up his life for you and for me. Just think about what must have been going through his mind. He was about to be betrayed tortured and crucified. Yet with all that he was about to face before he part takes in his final meal he pauses and give thanks.

That act speaks volumes to us no matter what we are going through or may eventually go through. It pales in comparison to what our Lord went through, yet he paused before the inevitable to give thanks. How can we do any less no matter what challenges we face in life. We all have so much to be thankful for some more than others. For many myself included God delivered us from COVID 19 I am so very Thankful to be here!!! So as we progress through the day and throughout the upcoming holiday season and New Year. Let us remain thankful and continue give God Praise for Life and all of his many, many blessings. Happy Thanksgiving Minister Mike.
