(Mat 24:44) Therefore you also be ready, for in that hour you think not, the Son of Man comes.
It is already the 5th of February 2015 and this really is my first blog of the year the one I did for New Years was an update. It is a blessing to be alive as well as a blessing to share what I feel that God has laid on my heart to share with you. The concept of being prepared and being ready has been in my thoughts throughout the year on and off. As Christians we should always be prayerful and ready for whatever may come our way. I’ve lost two cousins by the name of James recently from both sides of my family. Biblically James was part of the inner circle (Mar 5:37) And He allowed no one to follow Him, except Peter and James and John, the brother of James. There are several scriptures where we find that he took Peter, James, and John with him. As Christians we are now part of his elect and we have a responsibility. Part of that responsibility is to warn others of what is to come. We never know what lies ahead in this life. (Jas 4:13) Come now, those saying, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city and spend a year there, and we will trade and will make a profit, (Jas 4:14) who do not know of the morrow. For what is your life? For it is a vapor, which appears for a little time, and then disappears.
My mom who was known for her tract ministry had a tract that was entitled “Ready to go Ready to Stay” This brings us to our Scripture text while we see from our reading of James none of us are promised to be here tomorrow not alone the rest of today. Life is short and we should make the most out of each day we are blessed with life. There is a day coming that our Lord speaks of in Matthew 24:44 a day when he is going to return. In our society today many mock Christianity and the very existence of God. However for those of us who have placed our Faith and Hope in Christ there is a Great Day Coming!!!! (2Pe 3:3) First, knowing this, that there will come in the last days scoffers walking according to their own lusts (2Pe 3:4) and saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation. (2Pe 3:9) The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2Pe 3:10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up.
Are you Ready? Should your life end today or sometime in the near future do you know what’s next? Do you know where you will spend eternity? Do you believe in an afterlife? Do you know Jesus and more importantly does he know you? In a broader view of our world today are you Ready for The End? Should The Lord crack the skies in the near future what could or would he say about you and your life? How would he find you? What are you doing with your life? (Mat 24:45) Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord has made ruler over His household, to give them food in due season? (Mat 24:46) Blessed is that servant whom his Lord shall find him doing so when He comes. So what are you doing with the life that God has blessed you with? How are you spending your days and your time? I’ve addressed this topic before and every time I address it we are getting one day closer to The Lord’s return. Who are you working for? Are you ready to meet the King? It amazes me how so many Christians don’t want to talk about the end times. They are so focused on the here and now. As for me The Lord can’t come soon enough. His return will usher in a New Day. After the final battle foretold in scripture there will be the dawn of a New Day a New Heaven and a New Earth. There will be no more pain, no more suffering, no more disease, no more sickness, and no more death. Now Are You Ready for that I know I am!!! Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike.
