What Does the Bible Have to Say about Ebola?

(Lev 14:37) And he shall look on the plague. And behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, which in sight are lower than the wall, (Lev 14:38)  then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days.

What does the Bible say about Ebola? Well in a word nothing, however when we read the book of Leviticus especially around chapters 11 through 15. The Bible provides information on what should or should not be eaten as well as how to deal with various health issues, diseases, etc. It would behoove our political leaders as well as our medical professionals to take a look and study these chapters because they provide insight that I believe would be beneficial when dealing with Ebola and any other type of disease or illness.

Another interesting thing I find as we look at this world wide Ebola crisis is how it appears that the church is somewhat taking a back seat. I for one have not seen or heard a lot from our church leaders in regards to Ebola. I always encourage people to seek out medical advice and help. At the same time the Bible has numerous promises and assurances that healing is available to us. (Jas 5:14) Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (Jas 5:15)  And the prayer of faith will cure the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up. And if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him. Now this is guarantee however I believe one reason we don’t see more miracles is because there is a lack of faith. There is a lack of faith not only on the part of those who are sick but on the part of those praying for the sick. I really believe there is a disconnect between what we read in scripture and the belief that it also applies to us today.

(Mat 10:1) And when He had called to Him His twelve disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. We as believers have the same authority that was given to the disciples however as stated I believe there is a lack of faith. When we look at the verse taken from James 5:14 we don’t even have to have it all together for us to receive our healing yet I believe that many miss out on their healing due to a lack of faith. It’s like the one time where Jesus asked the man if he believed and his response was that he believed but help my unbelief. God does not want any of us to be sick or to suffer we live in a sin sick world and the enemy attacks us via sickness and suffering. However the Bible assures us that there is healing available to us all we have to do is seek God and believe Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike
