(Proverbs 16:25) There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is the ways of death. (Psalms 30:5) For His anger is only a moment; in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. (Deuteronomy 31:6) Be strong and of a good courage. Do not fear nor be afraid of them. For Jehovah your God is He who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.
Just about every day that I’m blessed with life I go walking. After 18 years of fighting Fibromyalgia my daily walks are a necessary means of my fighting this dreadful illness. It is also a time of prayer, meditation, and self-examination. I try my best to keep this time from being that of me presenting my daily wish list of requests to God. Prayer should always be a time where we communicate with the almighty a time of fellowship as well as instruction. It’s hard to hear from God when we don’t open up our heart and mind to listen. God will speak to us in our hearts as well as our minds if we learn to relax and to listen.
Until recently I had a pattern where I started out walking in one direction and ended up just around the corner from my house. There are days when I venture off and walk through the park however most of the time I take the same route. The last leg of my walk is usually the most chaotic leg of my routine. There are numerous dogs that are always barking as I walk past, sometimes their owners let them loose and they’ll run up to me. So it’s difficult to meditate and close strong with the distractions. One day I decided to reverse my path and walked through the areas with the noise and the distractions first. I found that I had better days when I reversed my paths. I thought how often we avoid trouble and problems because they are unpleasant and depressing.
As we look at our scripture texts there are times when we are doing what we feel is right however the end result is going to be disastrous. While we may escape with our lives we’ll be bruised and broken. There are situations in life that we may tend to avoid or put off. Yet when we learn to trust God no matter how tough things are or may seem. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. God will never leave nor will he forsake us actually he is there with us. You may have a daily routine or pattern of doing things yet your life seems to be stagnant. Maybe it’s time to shake things up, to do things differently, take on a new challenge, and find a different method of doing things. Maybe it’s time to move literally, sometimes we need to completely change our associations, or environment and even our place of employment. For some of you reading this it might be time to venture out on your own to become your own boss.
Life is short and each day is a gift from God to each one of us. We should get as much as possible out of each day. I’m attaching some scenes from my daily walk I like water if you look at the picture the creek is full of debris mostly wood and other stuff. However just across the street here is what the same creek looks like. the water is almost crystal clear. You see all of that wood and debris actually acts as a filter and as the current flows all of the debris is filtered out and on the other side we find almost crystal clear water. There are times in our lives when what we really need to do is take a different path. It may require us to go through the debris of life. God can and he will use that debris to cleanse and purge us. No matter what form it may come in it could be illness, financial problems, emotional problems, marital problems, problems on the job, problems with your family, no matter what they are remember two things. Number one in the story of Job after he faced all of his troubles he bowed down and worshiped God. He didn’t blame God for his troubles neither should any of us. Secondly For His anger is only a moment; in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. (Deuteronomy 31:6) Be strong and of a good courage. Do not fear nor be afraid of them. For Jehovah your God is He who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. No matter how things may look or appear you’re not facing your problems alone God is right there with you weeping may endure for a night but Joy does come in the morning. You night may be long it can last for day, weeks, months and even years. Face your problems head on don’t avoid them realize that God is right there with you. Choose a different path one that will eventually take you out of the troubles of life and bring you safely home.
(Ecclesiastes 7:8) Better is the end of a thing than the beginning of it; the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. (Ecclesiastes 7:9) Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry; for anger rests in the bosom of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7:10) Do not say, Why was it that the former days were better than these? For you do not ask wisely in regard to this. Stop worrying, stop complaining, be Thankful that things are as well as they are yes they could be better but they could always be worse much worse. God is there with you and he will see you through he’ll never let you down Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike.
