Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. (Malachi 3:10 NKJV).
There are 66 books total in the Bible Old and New Testament included, whether you are a regular attendee or member of any church. Even if you are not a regular church member if you have any knowledge of church period, you are familiar with the above scripture. This scripture is used weekly in some churches before they raise the offering. There have been many sermons preached using this scripture in order to encourage people to give. For the sake of this writing I’m going to focus on two words “TRY ME” in some translations of this verse the words prove me or test me are used. I like the words “TRY ME” because there are so many times in life that we are faced with decisions, problems, situations, accusations, and just the stuff of life.
Life can at times be over bearing and extremely stressful yet Jesus said (John 10:10 MKJV) The thief does not come except that he may steal, and kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly. The” they” he is speaking of includes you and I God wants us to live and Jesus came and gave his life so that we might experience an abundant life. Often in life our problem is that we take on too much. We don’t realize that we can’t make it on our own, we plan, we scheme, we struggle, only to no avail. Nothing changes in fact things usually get worse. No matter what the problem or situation God is waiting on us to give up and he’s saying “Try Me”.
If you’re sick he’s saying “Try Me” if you are in trouble he’s saying “Try Me” if you are broken hearted and lonely he’s saying “Try Me”. No matter what you are going through after you have done all that you know to do Try Jesus!!! Now some of you might ask Minister Mike how do we do that. How do we Try Jesus? Glad you asked.
1. Admit that you have done all that is humanly possible to do and there is nothing left to do.
2. Pray!!! Not some fine beautifully orchestrated words, really pray communicate with God open up he already knows everything, let it all out leave nothing unsaid. He has been waiting for you to get real and admit that there is nowhere else to go and no one else to talk to.
3. Get into the Word of God there you find stories similar to yours you’ll see problems just like yours and how God came through for them just as he will for you.
4. Stand!!! The Word of God is full of promises and assurances; often in the midst of the storms of life we forget that God is able to speak peace to our problems and situations. There is nothing too hard for God.
In conclusion Don’t Give Up, Don’t Give Out, Don’t Give In. God is able and he will answer your prayers he’s waiting and speaking to you right now saying “Try Me”!!! Let us pray Father in heaven we Thank You for the promises and assurances of your Holy Word. We Thank You that things are as well as they are realizing that they can always be worse. Father through your Holy Spirit speak to someone who is reading this right now speak to their heart and say “Try Me”. Let them know that you are there for them you are an ever present help in a time of trouble. Lord we Praise You and we Thank You because we know that you are going to answer the prayers of those that need you most and as I’m teaching others help me to remember to Try You in Jesus name we pray Amen and Amen. Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike.
