Ezekiel 34:1) And the Word of Jehovah came to me, saying, (Ezekiel 34:2) Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah to the shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? (Ezekiel 34:3)You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you kill the fat ones, but you do not feed the flock. (Ezekiel 34:4)You have not made the weak strong, nor have you healed the sick, nor have you bound up the broken. You have not brought again those driven away, nor have you sought that which was lost; but you have ruled them with force and with cruelty. (Ezekiel 34:5) And they were scattered for lack of a shepherd. And they became food to all the beasts of the field when they were scattered.
The top graphic was taken from a Pastor’s Facebook timeline and it was being shared by the Pastor himself in my humble opinion this is totally inappropriate for a Pastor to allow himself to become so engrossed with the politics of the day. On the same Pastor’s Timeline was a graphic of Jesus teaching a child how to use a gun something that I find appalling while it appeared that someone else posted it he did not comment or remove it. If we apply the scripture above to the situation in our country today then we as the body of Christ need to accept responsibility for the state of our country. How often do we quote this scripture- if My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land ( 2nd Chronicles 7:14). What we lack in this country is humility there is nothing humble about the images included in this blog. Are our church leaders to be blamed just as the shepherds in our scripture text? If the church were really the church would there be a need for Obamacare?
(Acts 19:11) And God did works of power through the hands of Paul, (Acts 19:12) so that even handkerchiefs or aprons from his skin being brought onto the sick, the diseases were released, and the evil spirits went out of them. (Acts 5:14) and more believing ones were added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women; (Acts 5:15) So as to carry out the sick into the streets and place them on cots and mattresses, so that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. (Acts 5:16) And also a multitude came from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick ones, and those being tormented by unclean spirits, who were all healed.
So after reading the above scriptures why is any Pastor concerned about Obamacare or any true child of The Kingdom for that matter? We have the answer but what has happened? Some years ago I was discussing with a pastor as to why we don’t see such healing in our churches? His response in part was because of a lack of faith amongst the people. I also believe that there is a lack of faith in the people on the part of those who are praying for them. (James 5:14) Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (James 5:15) And the prayer of faith will cure the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up. And if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him. (James 5:16) Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much. I’ve used this scripture in my first posting as to why some are not healed and it is worth using again. To me these verses are a guarantee when applied as directed. I’ve gone to churches and seen people being prayed for without anyone anointing them with oil. To me that is like someone saying they’re going to bake a Chocolate Cake and leaving out the Chocolate. The oil represents the Holy Spirit and ain’t too much going to happen unless the Holy Spirit is involved. The other important ingredients are confession and prayer. So why do we expect results when we don’t follow instructions, we lack faith, lack integrity, lack humility, this is why we have a debate over Obamacare. The church has not adhered to the standards and mandates that were given to them to follow as found in scripture.
I encourage Pastors everywhere I don’t care if you are for or against President Obama or Obamacare. We have a mission to fulfill and the Lord is soon to come if the Church of Christ would only repent and truly humble themselves. If we all would come together and seek the face of God in true humility forgetting about politics but longing for God to Heal the Land. I believe that Obamacare would become a moot issue. Hospitals will have to be closed down because of the miraculous healing of the sick. I believe funerals homes would go out of business because people would be living longer and people would stop killing each other. If we the people of God don’t repent and turn our hearts and minds toward heaven then things are only going to get worst no matter who is president or if there is or is not a National Health Care Plan. Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike.
