(Isa 1:18) Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Recently CNN anchor Don Lemon also a high-ranking NBA official came out letting the world know that each one of them lived a Gay lifestyle two of the latest examples of people coming out. I am sure that for some in the church world there was instant condemnation resulting from these announcements. Yet at the same time in churches all over this country there are people serving and even holding positions of leadership that are still in the closet. Don’t ask don’t tell is still prevalent in the body of Christ especially in many of our African-American churches. Before I go any further let me say this that no matter who you are and what you’ve done or what you are currently doing. There is a special measure of Grace that God has extended to you and to you alone. God Loves you and he loves you just where you are at in your life right now today. He has extended you an invitation in the message found in the scripture above. Right now he is saying Let’s talk.
Homosexuality and Sex in general are not being openly discussed in the body of Christ. The church should be at the forefront of this discussion neither condemning nor condoning but listening first then having discussions involving practical Biblical teaching and showing those who need help the most, what the Bible actually says dealing with the topics of sex and homosexuality. This discussion must be open and honest but at the same time private from church to church. We cannot have this discussion via CNN because that is a no win situation. It is time for the church to let those within the body of Christ who are secretly practicing this lifestyle to finally come out. The scripture says (Mat 11:28) If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. It is time for the church to open their arms to all, gay and straight and allow them to freely come in. For the Bible says (Rom 3:23) for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. None of us have it all together we all daily need and use the measure grace God extends to us. At the same time all us still need to be reminded of what the Apostle Paul said (Rom 6:1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound? (Rom 6:2) Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Jesus never left anyone in their sin, just as with the woman caught in the act of adultery he did not condemn her at the same time he sent her away instructing her to go and sin no more. I would hope that churches everywhere would start having very frank and very open and blunt Bible Studies dealing with Human Sexuality Period !!! At the same time buyer beware because the word of God has warned us already saying (2Ti 4:3) For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear. (2Ti 4:4) And they will turn away theirears from the truth and will be turned to myths. OR (2Ti 4:3) The time is coming when people won’t listen to good teaching. Instead, they will look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are itching to hear. (2Ti 4:4) They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to senseless stories. Be Encouraged and Blessed Minister Mike.
